Colorization Tutorial

In this tutorial I will be showing how to colorize an image in Photoshop. This tutorial was requested by the wonderful Edziak :)

Starting Out

First I choose the image I want to colorize, I chose one of Sophia Bush that I found at Stunning Sophia Bush

I then add a Color Balance layer

Adding Color

1. I adjust the colors until I find a good hair/skin mix. Normally I make seperate layers for these but I kept them the same on this, You will find out why later on ;) So after I find a good color mix, I erase out the eyes and lips.

2. Next, I choose another Color Balance layer, Find a nice blue/green for the eyes. Erase out everything but the eyes and you will have something like this

3. I now color the lips [NOTE: Coloring the lips to find a good pink color will cause intense color increases of reds and yellows!]. So I finally found a good pink color, Erase around the lips USING A SOFT ROUND BRUSH, And I now have something like this

4. I now add a Photo Filter Layer, with the below settings

and now get something like this

5. Last step is a Selective Color layer with the below settings

And I finally get this!
